Lobby Interior
It’s been busy and I’ll have more to share during the slow season. I had a rather nice photo shoot in Philadelphia of the Packard Building lobby last week. It was a challenge because sunny days have too many reflections on the columns and woodwork and evening light doesn’t provide enough detail of the ceiling. The solution was to photograph on a heavy overcast or rainy day. This kind of lighting provides even light and low reflections. I often find overcast to be my favorite lighting for doing interior shoots. I love the ceiling color and detail.

Hey Paul,
Hello from Norwich, England. I follow you on Twitter and was very pleased to see this photo as I am visiting Philly at the end of Nov. I look forward to visiting the lobby (if public can access it).
Cheers,
Mark
You will love Philadelphia and it’s my favorite city in the U.S. Very good food! Be sure to go to Campos near 2nd and Market St in the historic area, I love the cheese steaks. Lot’s to do and you will have fun!
great shot paul! i’ll take an overcast day any day
Wonderful image, very inviting. I had the pleasure of meeting your parents at a recent show.
I consider myself lucky when it’s overcast for interiors. This year has been lots of overcast.
My parents mentioned they saw you. Kutztown I think. They go to a lot of shows in PA.
