Retouching For Architectural Project
I’m in the middle of retouching a bunch of photos for an architectural client. I’ve been working in some cities such as Hoboken and Jersey City that have a lot of power lines and poles. Unfortunately the distractions are complex so planning the photography around the idea of retouching is important. Here are before and after photos to show the situation.

As an architect and a photographer I give to you all my respect and praise. A very good job!!
Wow, awesome job. Love the building the light is perfect.
Marvelous work!! How many labor hours did it take to get this done?
It took about 6-7 hours to get the photo cleaned up. It was worth it because it’s a nice building that deserves better. Thanks for the feedback!
You’re right. Absolutely beautiful! Again, great work.
It’s sad how many of my photos are ruined by poles and wires just about everywhere I happen to travel….
Great job.
That’s pretty amazing. Good job =)
Oh wow! Wonderful photography and editing skills!
Very impressive, and you’re right, the building deserved better.
I’ll have another one of these extensive touch-up projects coming soon. Stay tuned!

This is truly amazing. Not only did you have to remove so many elements but the diamond pattern on the building would have required such precision! I will think twice now, before dismissing a shot because of all of the visual clutter. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
AMAZING!
Interesting post Paul, won’t take you 7 hours now with a new tool in Photoshop CS5.
The new Photoshop CS5 will save a lot of time! However I have doubts it will work well for items that have perspective issues such as tile or brick with vanishing points. Maybe it will but I have a photo here to try it on!
I hope CS5 has a better vanishing point plugin. The current one is clumsy and crashes.
